1.The Medium frequency IGBT induction heating power supply mainly consists of the following modules:
Rectification unit
Rectify AC power (50Hz) into DC power, usually using three-phase fully controlled bridge rectification or diode rectification.
Filter unit
By using DC reactors or capacitors for filtering, voltage fluctuations are eliminated and a stable DC power supply is provided.
Inverter unit (core part)
Invert DC power into medium frequency AC power (1-20kHz), commonly using IGBT or MOSFET as switching devices, and adopting series or parallel resonant circuits.
Resonant circuit
The LC resonant circuit is composed of an induction coil (load) and a compensation capacitor, which improves heating efficiency through resonant boost/current.
Control and protection circuits
Using PWM or PFM to regulate power, achieving automatic frequency tracking (maintaining resonance state), and equipped with overcurrent, overvoltage, and overheating protection.
2. Workflow
Rectification and filtering: The input three-phase AC power is rectified and filtered to become DC power.
Inverter and Resonance: DC electricity is converted into intermediate frequency AC through an inverter to drive an LC resonant circuit.
Energy coupling: The induction coil generates an alternating magnetic field, causing eddy current heating inside the workpiece.
Closed loop control: Real time detection of load current/voltage, adjusting the inverter frequency to match the resonance point (such as phase-locked loop PLL technology).
3. Key features
Efficient and energy-saving: Heat is directly generated inside the workpiece, with a thermal efficiency of up to 60% to 80% (much higher than resistance heating).
Precise temperature control: By adjusting frequency and power, local or uniform heating can be achieved, suitable for processes such as quenching, melting, brazing, etc.
Quick response: extremely fast heating speed (in seconds), suitable for automated production lines.
Non contact heating: Avoid contamination and extend the lifespan of the workpiece.
