Forever Electromechanical has announced the successful commissioning of its custom steel billet induction heating machine for a large-scale steel ball manufacturing project in Serbia. The equipment serves as the core heating unit of the full roll-forged grinding media production line, marking another milestone of Forever Electromechanical’s overseas delivery in the mining grinding media sector. After weeks of on-site assembly, wiring, cold test and hot debugging, the induction heating system has passed full-load trial production and achieved stable continuous operation, meeting the customer’s requirements for mass production of roll forged steel balls for ball mill applications.

The Serbian client invested in a new steel ball factory to supply local mining and cement industries. The whole production flow includes steel billet feeding, induction heating, hot shearing, roll forging, heat treatment and finished product sorting. As the front-end heating core, the steel billet induction heating machine directly decides the forging quality, metal structure consistency and final breakage rate of grinding balls. After strict technical comparison, the customer selected Forever Electromechanical for its mature induction heating technology, customized design capability and reliable overseas after-sales service system.
This billet forging heat treatment process adopts medium-frequency induction heating technology specially optimized for steel ball roll forging. It can heat steel billets rapidly and uniformly to target forging temperature within a short period, with small temperature difference between billet surface and core. Compared with traditional gas furnaces, induction heating greatly reduces surface oxidation and decarburization, minimizing material loss and improving the surface quality of forged steel balls.
The system is equipped with intelligent closed-loop temperature control. Operators can set and adjust heating parameters according to billet size, material grade and production speed. Real-time temperature monitoring helps avoid overheating or under-heating, which are common causes of internal cracks and unstable mechanical properties of grinding balls. High energy conversion efficiency cuts down power consumption during continuous production, supporting the client’s target of low-cost, eco-friendly manufacturing.

The whole machine is designed for 24-hour continuous heavy-duty operation. The optimized coil structure and independent circulating cooling system guarantee stable performance under long-cycle production. The automation interface connects smoothly with the downstream hot shearing and roll forging station, realizing synchronized material transfer. It effectively reduces manual intervention and improves the overall line rhythm. All electrical and safety components comply with European industrial standards to fit Serbia’s local factory operation norms.
Forever Electromechanical dispatched a professional engineering team to Serbia for on-site guidance, covering equipment installation, pipeline layout, electrical debugging and operator training. The project faced challenges including site coordination, cross-language communication and local power grid adaptation. The engineering team adjusted control parameters repeatedly during hot testing to match the customer’s raw billet characteristics and roll forging process.
During trial production, the heated billets showed uniform temperature and good plasticity, perfectly matching the subsequent hot shearing and roll forging process. Test finished steel balls obtained compact metallographic structure, good roundness and low breakage rate, fully satisfying the technical indicators for mining ball mill grinding media. The customer’s production team received systematic training on daily operation, routine inspection, fault diagnosis and preventive maintenance to ensure long-term stable running after handover.
Before this project, many local grinding media manufacturers relied on outdated heating equipment with high energy consumption and unstable product quality. The new induction heating unit delivered by Forever Electromechanical helps the Serbian factory produce high-performance roll-forged steel balls locally, reducing dependence on imported grinding media. The finished steel balls will be supplied to regional mineral processing plants, cement works and thermal power stations across the Balkans.

This cooperation also strengthens Forever Electromechanical’s market footprint in Southeast Europe. With rich experience in grinding media production lines, Forever Electromechanical provides full-set solutions including induction heating furnace, hot shearing machine, roll forging equipment and steel ball heat treatment lines. The company continues to tailor metallurgical thermal processing equipment for global clients from Serbia, Russia, Turkey, the Middle East and other regions.
The official operation of this automatic feeding billet induction heating system marks the full readiness of the Serbian roll forged steel ball production line for commercial mass production. Both parties plan to maintain long-term technical cooperation, including regular equipment inspection, process optimization and upgrade support. Forever Electromechanical will keep promoting energy-saving induction heating and intelligent forging technology, helping more global grinding media manufacturers improve product quality, cut operation cost and expand market competitiveness.
Forever Electromechanical remains committed to delivering reliable thermal processing equipment and full lifecycle service for worldwide mining, cement and metallurgical customers.
