In the field of medium and thick steel plate heat treatment, induction hardening machines have become core processing equipment due to their high heating efficiency, small deformation and controllable performance. With years of in-depth research and on-site commissioning experience in induction heat treatment equipment, Forever Electromechanical has formed mature commissioning technologies targeting the characteristics of medium and thick steel plates, including special material properties, wide thickness range and high uniformity requirements for hardened layers. This article summarizes the systematic on-site commissioning key points based on practical operation experience, solving common industrial problems such as unstable equipment operation, uneven quenching and unqualified hardness.

Heating uniformity determines the steel plate induction heat treatment machine, and inductor calibration is the core procedure. During commissioning, the inductor shall be firmly fixed to keep a uniform gap between the inductor and the steel plate surface, avoiding local uneven heating caused by inconsistent spacing. Select matched inductor specifications and optimize installation angles and fitting distances according to the thickness, material and width of steel plates. In addition, test the insulation performance of the inductor to ensure qualified insulation resistance and prevent electric leakage and sparking faults. Standard calibration ensures stable magnetic field and uniform overall heating, effectively avoiding local overheating or insufficient heating defects.

After preliminary parameter debugging, small-batch sample quenching tests are required to verify the processing effect. Technicians conduct hardness testing, hardened layer depth measurement and metallographic analysis to check for hardness deviation, uneven hardened layers and plate deformation. Slightly adjust power, cooling speed and operating rhythm according to test results, and repeat sample tests until all technical indicators meet standards. Qualified and stable process parameters are solidified to form a standardized operation scheme. Meanwhile, multiple protection functions including overvoltage, overheating and water shortage protection are activated to guarantee long-term stable equipment operation and meet the requirements of high-quality mass production.

Based on abundant on-site commissioning practices, Forever Electromechanical has summarized a complete commissioning logic for
steel plate induction heat treatment equipment: hardware pre-inspection for stability, inductor calibration for uniformity, parameter optimization for accuracy and sample verification for quality. The standardized commissioning process greatly improves debugging efficiency and reduces product scrap rate. In the final commissioning stage, complete full-load trial operation and record all operating data and process parameters. These data provide reliable support for subsequent equipment maintenance and process upgrading, helping customers realize high-efficiency, stable and low-cost steel plate heat treatment production.
