1. Pre-treatment Preparation

Before formal heat treatment, strict pre-treatment inspection and finishing are carried out. Workers first check the size, surface quality and forging state of forged billets to remove surface oxide scale, burrs and residual impurities generated during forging. Unqualified billets with cracks, deformation or excessive surface defects are screened out in advance to avoid affecting the overall heat treatment effect. Meanwhile, according to the billet material (carbon steel, alloy steel, etc.) and product application scenarios, the heating temperature, holding time and cooling mode are preset to formulate targeted treatment schemes, laying a foundation for standardized and efficient processing.

2. Uniform Heating Process

Heating is the key link to determine the microstructure transformation of billets. Forever Electromechanical adopts intelligent constant-temperature furnace equipment to heat forged billets uniformly at a stable rate. The heating temperature is strictly controlled within the reasonable range of material phase transformation, usually 830℃-900℃ for conventional steel billets. Slow and uniform heating avoids local overheating or underheating, prevents grain coarsening and thermal stress concentration, and ensures consistent temperature inside and outside the billet, which is conducive to the uniform transformation of internal metal structure.

3. Constant Temperature Holding Stage

After reaching the preset temperature, the billet enters the constant-temperature holding stage. According to the billet thickness and material characteristics, the holding time is precisely adjusted to ensure sufficient and thorough phase transformation of the internal metal structure. This process fully eliminates the uneven microstructure and forging stress formed in the hot forging process, refines grain size, and balances the internal structure of the billet, effectively improving the compactness and structural uniformity of forgings.

4. Controlled Cooling Treatment

Different cooling processes are adopted according to product performance requirements, including normalizing, quenching and annealing. For conventional structural parts, air cooling normalizing is used to refine grains and improve strength and toughness balance. For high-strength load-bearing parts, oil or water quenching is applied for rapid cooling to obtain high-hardness martensite structure. For parts requiring high ductility, furnace slow cooling annealing is adopted to reduce hardness and eliminate internal stress, facilitating subsequent machining.

5. Tempering and Finishing

Quenched billets must be tempered at low and medium temperature to reduce quenching brittleness and residual internal stress, stabilize material hardness and improve comprehensive mechanical properties. After tempering, secondary surface cleaning and shot blasting are conducted to remove surface oxide layers. Finally, dimensional inspection, hardness testing and non-destructive flaw detection are carried out to verify that all indicators meet production standards.
