Industry-University-Research Cooperation Bears Fruit! Forever Electromechanical Makes New Progress in Induction Heating Process R&D

In recent years, with the continuous upgrading of metal forging and hot rolling industry, the market has put forward higher requirements for energy saving, heating uniformity and intelligent control of induction heating equipment. To break through the technical bottlenecks of traditional billet heating such as high energy consumption, uneven temperature and large oxidation loss, Forever Electromechanical has actively carried out in-depth industry-university-research cooperation with professional technical colleges and material research institutions, focusing on the R&D and optimization of new induction heating processes for billets, and has recently achieved important technological breakthroughs.

Traditional induction billet heaters have long faced common pain points in industrial production. In the heating process of round steel billets and square steel billets, the temperature difference between the surface and the core is large, resulting in inconsistent forging and rolling forming quality. Meanwhile, unreasonable power matching leads to high energy consumption and serious surface oxidation, which restricts the improvement of finished product qualification rate and production efficiency. Aiming at these industry difficulties, Forever Electromechanical set up a special R&D team, cooperating with university material heating laboratories to carry out targeted technical research.

In the process of in-depth industry-university-research cooperation, the two parties jointly established a billet heating simulation test platform. Through massive data simulation and repeated field tests, they optimized the medium-frequency power output algorithm, adjusted the coil structural layout, and innovated the staged gradient heating process. The new process effectively solves the problem of inconsistent internal and external temperature of the billet, realizing uniform through-heating of steel billets. At the same time, it greatly reduces the surface oxidation decarburization layer, improving the intrinsic quality of metal blanks for hot working.

Different from the single heating mode of traditional equipment, the newly developed induction billet heating process adopts intelligent variable-frequency power regulation technology. It can independently match the optimal heating parameters according to different steel materials, billet specifications and production rhythms. The intelligent temperature closed-loop control system realizes real-time monitoring and fine adjustment of heating temperature, which not only improves heating efficiency by more than 15%, but also significantly reduces unit energy consumption, achieving a perfect balance between high efficiency and energy saving.

At present, the new  induction heating process has completed prototype testing and factory trial operation. The test data shows that the equipment has stable operation, accurate temperature control and low oxidation loss, and is fully applicable to the preheating process of steel ball forging, steel plate hot rolling and various metal forging productions. It effectively improves the yield of finished products and reduces production and processing costs for manufacturing enterprises.
