Steel sheet induction heating is vital for hot forming, surface hardening and heat treatment of metal plates. Traditional heating methods often struggle with uneven temperature, heavy oxidation and low repeatability, which easily trigger deformation and defective products. To address these pain points, Forever Electromechanical rolled out its customized steel sheet induction heating equipment. The recent on-site operation demo for overseas visitors fully displayed the stability, flexibility and digital control of this equipment. This article shares its working principle, on-site workflow, control configuration and core advantages for sheet processing manufacturers.

The equipment adopts IGBT induction heating power supply as the core drive. Alternating current passes through specially shaped induction coils to generate a high-speed alternating magnetic field. When steel sheets pass through the magnetic field, eddy currents are generated inside the metal matrix. Relying on steel resistance, electric energy is directly converted into internal heat. Unlike flame heating that transfers heat from outside inwards, induction heating realizes internal heat generation. Engineers adjust frequency and coil layout according to sheet thickness to achieve balanced through-heating or targeted surface heating. This mode greatly shortens heating cycles and avoids overheating on the outer surface while the core remains cold.
During the demo, the whole line ran continuously under real production conditions. First, the automatic conveying platform feeds steel sheets steadily into the heating station. Positioning sensors calibrate the sheet position to prevent offset and local overheating. Next, segmented induction zones heat the sheet step by step. Infrared temperature sensors collect surface temperature in real time and feed data back to the PLC system. Once the temperature deviates from the preset value, the system automatically adjusts output power and conveying speed. After reaching the target temperature, sheets are conveyed out for subsequent hot forming, quenching or leveling. Visitors witnessed smooth feeding, stable temperature output and fast response without open flame or heavy smoke.

Forever’s sheet heating line adopts a modular design for easy disassembly, transport and installation. The supporting energy-saving series induction power supply supports soft start and multi-protection mechanisms including overvoltage, overcurrent and water shortage alarm. Operators set parameters including target temperature, line speed and heating zone power on the HMI touch screen. Different recipes can be saved for carbon steel, alloy steel and special steel sheets. The water-cooled coil structure guarantees long-hour continuous operation, which meets the demand of mass batch processing. Independent zone control solves the common problem of temperature inconsistency at sheet edges and middle areas.
The demo clearly reflected multiple strengths versus resistance furnaces and gas heating furnaces. It can start heating instantly without long preheating waiting. Oxide scale generation is effectively suppressed, reducing material loss and follow-up cleaning workload. Temperature precision can reach ±5℃, which lowers the reject rate caused by thermal deformation. Without fuel combustion, it cuts harmful gas emissions and fits green production requirements. The whole line occupies less workshop space and can be docked with existing forming or heat treatment equipment. It supports both fixed-point local heating and full-plate continuous heating to satisfy diversified processing demands.
This steel steet hot rolled induction heating furnace serves multiple industries including automotive parts, engineering machinery and pressure vessel manufacturing. Forever Electromechanical has provided customized sheet heating and heat treatment solutions for clients in the Middle East, Southeast Asia, Russia and Türkiye. Each turnkey project includes on-site commissioning, operator training and long-term spare parts supply. The team can adjust coil structure and line layout according to customers’ sheet size, thickness and process requirements.

The on-site demo verified that induction heating is a reliable thermal processing route for steel sheets. Combining mature IGBT power technology, closed-loop temperature control and customized coil design, Forever Electromechanical helps sheet processors gain better temperature consistency, higher yield and lower carbon footprint. For factories looking to upgrade sheet heating workflows, this continuous induction heating line provides a practical and high-performance upgrade option.
