The traditional steel billet induction preheating machines in forging workshops generally adopt old thyristor power supply and open-loop fixed-power heating mode. Long-term continuous operation brings many problems: low power factor, large reactive power loss, serious electromagnetic leakage, and high comprehensive power consumption. The original heating coil has unreasonable structural design, serious surface heat dissipation, poor billet core penetration effect, obvious temperature difference between head, tail, surface and core. It often causes surface overheating, core underheating, increased oxidation burning loss, reduced forging qualification rate. In addition, the old cooling system has low heat exchange efficiency, the main unit frequently alarms for over temperature and over current, high failure rate, long shutdown maintenance time, which seriously restricts the stable output of the forging production line. First, remove the old thyristor cabinet and fully upgrade to Forever digital IGBT medium-frequency energy-saving power supply. The power factor is stably increased to above 0.95, reactive power consumption is greatly reduced, and no additional reactive compensation equipment is needed. Second, redesign magnetic field simulation, replace customized high-efficiency water-cooled integrated induction coils, optimize turn spacing and magnetic circuit matching, cut electromagnetic leakage loss, and realize uniform deep penetration heating of steel billets. Third, add infrared online temperature closed-loop system, automatically adjust power and frequency according to billet size and feeding speed, avoid invalid no-load power consumption. Fourth, renovate closed constant-temperature circulating water cooling system to improve heat dissipation efficiency and extend the service life of power supply and coils.
