Precision heat transfer parameters of square steel billet induction heating machine are finalized, and the ground forging and hot rolling process achieves temperature control and overall compliance
Recently, a domestic professional thermal processing equipment research base completed full-condition closed-loop actual testing for square steel billet induction heating machines. A complete set of high-precision induction through-heating parameters has been officially finalized and released. It is specially oriented to large-scale forging and hot rolling preheating scenarios for small and medium-sized square steel billets, solving common practical defects such as slow core heating, corner overheating and disordered parameter matching of traditional heating equipment. At present, it has been fully applied in mass production lines to realize all-day stable continuous heating.

The optimized heating parameters are suitable for mainstream industrial square steel materials, including carbon steel, low-alloy structural steel and gear special alloy billets. The applicable cross-section specification covers 60mm–220mm, and the controllable billet length ranges from 0.6m to 10m, perfectly matching automatic roller feeding rhythm. The core constant heating temperature is stably set between 1080℃–1130℃ to meet metallographic phase transformation requirements for forging and rolling. The overall three-dimensional temperature difference of the billet is controlled within ±6℃, effectively avoiding layered forging, surface cracks and deformation caused by uneven heating.

The supporting operating parameters are fully optimized. The medium-frequency rated power is 160kW–2500kW with flexible adjustment, and the closed-loop conveying speed is steadily controlled at 8m/min–14m/min, realizing seamless connection with integrated production lines. Under standard working conditions, the power consumption per ton of square billet is controlled at 325kWh–355kWh, and the oxidation burning loss rate is less than 0.7%. The energy-saving rate is more than 27% compared with traditional open flame furnaces. The standardized parameters are highly compatible with new and old workshops without large renovation, effectively promoting green, low-consumption and high-quality upgrading of the metallurgical hot processing industry.
